The draft NSDS-2040 has been submitted for public discussion

The draft National Sustainable Development Strategy of the Republic of Belarus for the period up to 2040 has been submitted for public discussion.

The National Sustainable Development Strategy of the Republic of Belarus for the period up to 2040 (NSDS-2040) is a system-forming document. Its provisions will form the basis for industry development strategies, government planning and forecasting documents.

The NSDS-2040 project is based on the main provisions of the National Security Concept of the Republic of Belarus and the project ideas of the Comprehensive Forecast of Scientific and Technological Progress for 2026-2030 and for the period up to 2045.

The document contains the main provisions, which are based on a systems approach, revealing the development of three interrelated components: man, economy and ecology. Based on these, five long-term development priorities were selected:

• strengthening family values ​​and providing ample opportunities for the development of personal potential;
• quality education oriented towards technological development and new life needs;
• technological independence and building an intelligent economy;
• competitive and accessible business environment, achieving a balance of interests between business and the state;
• environmental safety and resource efficiency.

Suggestions and comments on the draft National Sustainable Development Strategy of the Republic of Belarus for the period up to 2040 can be sent from September 24, 2024 to October 16, 2024 to the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus and to the e-mail address prognoz@economy.gov.by.
