The level of use of secondary resources is increasing in Belarus

The circular economy ensures a more rational use of resources. Re-involvement of waste and secondary resources in the production process significantly reduces the material intensity of production.
Currently, about 32% of secondary resources are processed in Belarus. It is planned to increase the level of processing of secondary resources up to 50% by the end of 2025. To this end, the country has created and is developing an appropriate infrastructure: there are 7 factories, 83 lines for sorting recyclables, more than 1,600 collection points for recyclables from the population. In addition, a concept has already been created, projects are planned for the further construction of factories where garbage will be sorted, cleaned, pressed and involved in further economic turnover.
The use of new technologies and the improvement of the system for collecting and processing secondary raw materials make an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 12, 13 and other SDGs.
