The meeting of the public coordinating environmental council was held in Minsk

On December 28, 2021, a meeting of the public environmental coordination council under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus was held.

During the meeting, the participants summed up the results of the implementation of environmental initiatives and projects in 2021, and also discussed the following topics:

  • improving the system for collecting, processing, analyzing, storing and providing for use geological information about the subsoil in accordance with modern and future requirements in the field of subsoil use on the basis of creating publicly available information resources;
  • the consolidated register of environmental information of the state fund of data on the state of the environment and impacts on it;
  • draft Law of the Republic of Belarus «On Environmental Protection»;
  • the order of work of the public coordinating environmental council;
  • other topics raised by members of the Public Environmental Coordination Council.

Also, within the framework of the meeting of the public coordinating environmental council, the winners of two republican competitions for the best public ecologist and for the best publication on environmental topics were awarded.

Public participation in environmental decision-making makes a significant contribution to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by the Republic of Belarus.
