In order to popularize electric vehicles as an environmentally friendly and economical mode of transport that contributes to the formation of a comfortable urban environment, on July 17, 2022, the Day of Electric Transport was celebrated in the Republic of Belarus.

In April 2021, the Comprehensive Program for the Development of Electric Transport for 2021–2025 was approved, aimed at the production and development of electric transport, as well as creating conditions for increasing the number of electric vehicles used, expanding the infrastructure of electric transport and minimizing negative impacts on the environment.
The development of electric transport makes a significant contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 7, 9, 12 and other SDGs.
