The Resolution of the Council of Ministers of November 5, 2024 No. 816 sets out in a new edition of the Program for the creation of a state charging network for electric vehicles.
The Program was developed to stimulate the use of electric vehicles in the Republic of Belarus by creating a developed charging infrastructure and is aimed at developing an economically efficient state charging network for charging electric vehicles in the Republic of Belarus.
Within the framework of the Program, it is planned to determine the main directions of the development of the state charging network in the Republic of Belarus taking into account modern global trends, to develop a promising model for the development of the state charging network in urban areas and on major highways, to determine the phased development of the state charging network of the state operator.
The program also regulates issues of the development of the state charging network, financial support, main risks and mechanisms for managing them.
The developed charging infrastructure in Belarus is a key factor in the intensive introduction of electric vehicles and a condition for the development of domestic production of electric vehicles and auto components. As of January 1, 2024, the network of electric charging stations includes 1020 stations. It is being developed by the RUE Production Association Belorusneft, OJSC BELSELEKTROSETSTROY, RUE BELTELECOM, OJSC Vityaz, a number of owners of networks of filling stations, and individual installations of electric charging stations are also being carried out by business entities.
The development of the network of electric charging stations makes a significant contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals 7, 9, 12 and the other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.
