The results of the regional conference «Localization of SDGs at the regional level» in the Mogilev region were summed up

On August 19, 2021, in the Mogilev region, a regional conference was held on the topic «Localizing the SDGs at the regional level».
The flagship in promoting the ideas of sustainable development in Belarus is the Mogilev region, where, on the initiative of the regional leadership, the first regional sustainable development strategy until 2035 was adopted and is being successfully implemented.
According to the Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic, national coordinator for the achievement of the SDGs Anatoly Isachenko, the Sustainable Development Goals are based on the meaningful slogan «Leave no one aside» and involve all regions of Belarus in the systematic development, taking into account their peculiarities.
The national coordinator emphasized that thanks to the head of state and the policy that he is implementing, Belarus looks worthy in many areas, and also demonstrates good results in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals.
In the independent SDG rating, our country ranks 24th place out of 165 countries, and the level of progress in achieving the SDGs is almost 79%. The Republic of Belarus ranks 53rd place in the Human Development Index.
Anatoly Isachenko emphasized that the positive aspirations of Belarus are opposed by the purposeful actions of a number of states, however, Belarus continues to systematically implement the 2030 Agenda.
