The role of business in the development of society was discussed in Minsk

On May 22, 2025, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Belarus and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus held a conference “Investing in the Future of Generations: Sustainable Business Practices” dedicated to the social responsibility of business and sustainable development in the context of protecting children’s rights.
The conference brought together representatives of business, government agencies, and public organizations and became a platform for sharing experience and best practices, demonstrating that investing in children and sustainable business practices is not only a moral imperative, but also a strategic advantage for society.
The program included interactive parallel sessions (case workshops) on ecology, inclusion and hr-policy, discussions and exchange of opinions with the participation of representatives of different generations. The conference focused on the topics of ESG awareness, social responsibility of business and protection of children’s rights.
During active discussions, participants discussed how business can contribute to sustainable development, why investing in children and adolescents is strategically beneficial for companies, how to integrate children’s rights into business processes, and familiarized themselves with the best cases from companies already working according to ESG and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) standards.
The implementation of business initiatives aimed at the sustainable development of society, including the protection of children’s rights and interests, makes an important contribution to the realization of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
