As part of a World Intellectual Property Organization project, the Belarusian State University has established a Center for Technology and Innovation Support. The initiative is being implemented in Belarus by the National Centre for Intellectual Property (NCIS).
The aim of the Center is to facilitate the search for information on existing scientific achievements and to assist young researchers and teachers in their research work. This is possible through access to patent and non-patent databases of the World Intellectual Property Organization, the NCIS and other thematic resources. Also, conferences, seminars, consulting and training activities on legal protection and use of intellectual property objects will be held at the Center’s sites jointly with the NCIS.
The creation of such centers contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 9, “Industrialization, Innovation and Infrastructure”. Innovations help free up economic forces that create employment and income. They play a key role in introducing and promoting new technologies, facilitating international trade and ensuring efficient use of resources. Intensified research is key to achieving SDG 9.
