VTB Bank (Belarus) conducted financial literacy lessons for 800 schoolchildren

4 April 2024

Every year, as part of the Financial Literacy Week, CJSC «VTB Bank (Belarus)» conducts training sessions for schoolchildren throughout Belarus.

In 2024, classes were held from March 18 to 24 and were organized in 20 schools in the country: Minsk and regional centers, Bobruisk, Baranovichi, Pinsk, Orsha, Mozyr, Soligorsk, Lida, Polotsk, Svetlogorsk, Krichev, Bykhov and Shklov.

Almost 800 schoolchildren in grades 3-11 took part in these classes. Students tried themselves in the role of bank employees and checked documents and banknotes for authenticity. For students, events were held with an emphasis on how to avoid becoming a victim of scammers, including on the Internet. The classes were held in the form of interactive lessons with educational quizzes.

Educational activities for schoolchildren help the younger generation gain useful knowledge in matters of financial literacy and rational use of money, which makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 1, 4, 8 and other SDGs.
