On September 16-22, 2025, Belarus hosts Mobility Week, an international campaign aimed at raising awareness about the impact of transport on the environment and health.
In all regions of the country, a rich program of events is provided to promote cycling, the use of electric vehicles, and personal mobility tools. Sports competitions, bike rides, information and propaganda, cultural and entertainment events are held. The work of the ecological zones has been organized.
The Mobility Week will end on September 22 with the Car-Free Day campaign under the motto “Mobility for everyone”. On this day, car owners will be able to travel by metro and public transport for free upon presentation of a driver’s license and a vehicle registration certificate.
According to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus, the Car-Free Day can prevent 100-200 tons of carbon emissions per year.
Reducing emissions into the atmosphere makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of the Sustainable Development Goals 7, 12, 13 and the other SDGs.
