Since 2011, a specialized financial institution has been operating in Belarus. The Development Bank is one of the main goals of which is the implementation of socially significant investment projects in the country. These include infrastructure projects, construction of new and modernization of existing enterprises, introduction of innovations, including in the agro-industrial complex.

In 2024, 168 investment projects are planned for implementation in the Grodno region. Most of them are aimed at import substitution, expansion and modernization of production. Among the ongoing projects: the construction and reconstruction of local roads, the construction of a whey processing plant and the production of whey-fat concentrate, the construction of a facility for cage keeping and breeding of fur-bearing animals and others.

Particular attention in the region is paid to the implementation of the “One District – One Project” initiative. As part of this initiative, 21 projects are planned to be implemented. With the support of the Development Bank, work on the creation of a new production facility for the production of containers and packaging from paper pulp on the basis of LLC “Akvapak Industrial” in Slonim is underway. The implementation of the project will organize a closed cycle, create virtually waste-free production and about 50 new jobs in the city. In addition, work is already underway to prepare for the implementation of another project – the construction of a new plant for the production of corrugated cardboard and packaging.

The implementation of socially significant investment projects, including the construction of new and modernization of existing production facilities, contributes to the socio-economic development of regions and to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of the Sustainable Development Goals 8, 11 and the other SDGs.
