Month-long action for the collection and harvesting of glass waste was launched in Minsk region

April 1-30, 2025 in Minsk region a large-scale action for the collection and harvesting of glass waste “Glass ECO-BOOM” will be held. Its goal is to turn unneeded glass bottles and jars into a valuable resource for recycling, reducing the region’s ecological footprint.

To join the campaign, just collect clean glass (bottles, cans, without caps and labels), throw them into special containers installed at the sites in the yards of residential buildings and waste collection areas, or hand them over to the collection points of secondary material resources. The addresses of the reception points can be found on the official website of the State Enterprise “Housing and Communal Services of Minsk region”.

Recycling and reuse of 1 ton of glass saves 700 kg of sand and 20% of energy used for its production, which makes an important contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals 7, 12, 13 and the other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.
