Educational events for schoolchildren “Farmer is cool” were held in Mogilev region

On January 25, 2025, within the framework of the pilot initiative “Road to the future. Developing competencies in precision agriculture among preschool and school-aged children and youth”, training events “Farmer is Cool” were held in the Centers of Advanced Competencies in Agribusiness at the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy (Gorki) and Smilovichi State College (Smilovichi).

During the events more than 50 schoolchildren got acquainted with modern trends in agricultural production, learned what an agricultural worker does, what new technologies are used in Belarus today.

Participants noted that the events were interesting and they would like to continue learning about modern agriculture – to see how autopilot tractors work, to see agrodrones, to look into modern beehives.

The pilot initiative “Road to the future. Developing competencies in precision agriculture among preschool and school-aged children and youth” is being implemented by the Association of Franchisers and Franchisees “Belfranchising” with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the Republic of Belarus within the framework of the Joint Project “Support to the Efforts of the Republic of Belarus in Nationalization and Localization of SDGs”, funded by the Government of the Russian Federation.

The main goal of the initiative is to familiarize pre-school and school-age children with advanced technologies in agribusiness and to show that a modern worker in an agricultural enterprise is an interesting, technological and very important job.

Implementation of the activities of the initiative “Road to the future. Developing competencies in precision agriculture among preschool and school-aged children and youth” will contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals 2, 4, 8, 12 and the other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.
