Introductory seminar of the pilot initiative “Takeoff Technologies” was held in Brest region

On January 28, 2025, an introductory seminar of the pilot initiative “Takeoff Technologies” was held in Luninets on the topic: “Ways to expand employment opportunities for persons with disabilities in the field of services using additive 3D printing technologies”.

The seminar was attended by 27 people – representatives of the public association “Belarusian Society of the Disabled”, Luninets District Executive Committee, local businesses, partners and participants of the initiative and other interested parties.

The participants of the seminar discussed topical directions of rehabilitation of persons with disabilities in the Republic of Belarus, Prospects for the development of the pilot initiative “Takeoff Technologies” and the use of digital technologies in the labor employment of persons with disabilities, including using the capabilities of additive 3D printing technologies. The participants of the seminar were also shown the principle of operation of 3D-printers, their types and scope of application in production and household.

In addition, the seminar discussed such issues as employment of the initiative participants at 3D printing organizations, expansion of opportunities for providing 3D printing services to the population, creation of inclusive conditions at the Educational Institution “Luninets Polytechnic College” and introduction of inclusive courses on 3D modeling and model making into the curriculum.

The initiative “Takeoff Technologies” is implemented by the Luninets District Organization of the Belarusian Society of Disabled Persons in partnership with the Department of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Luninets District Executive Committee, Chinese-Belarusian Joint Stock Company “Aviation Technologies and Complexes”, State Institution “Luninets Territorial Center for Social Services” with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Republic of Belarus under the Joint Project “Support to the Efforts of the Republic of Belarus in Nationalization and Localization of SDGs” funded by the Government of the Russian Federation.

The implementation of the “Takeoff Technologies” initiative will contribute to the expansion of employment opportunities for persons with disabilities and will contribute to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of the Sustainable Development Goals 4, 8, 9, 10 and the other SDGs.
