Project for children with disabilities is being implemented in Grodno

In Belarus, much attention is paid to the development of children with disabilities, their adaptation in the social environment, and the improvement of their physical and intellectual abilities. Therefore, various projects are being implemented in the country, one of which is the project of the children’s branch of the regional library named after. E. F. Karsky «B.I.K. Library. Inclusive. Culture» in Grodno.

The project is aimed at the socialization and adaptation of special children through inclusive readings. The lessons structured with an emphasis on Belarusian culture and contains elements of play and theatricality: children act out skits, talk about characters, make soft toys, learn different types of creativity. The project program also includes meetings in a family format, during which psychologists and teachers will work with parents of special children. The plan is to expand the range of activities for children – to organize an exhibition space, purchase the necessary furniture and special equipment for development clubs, and also organize on-site events in special children’s institutions.

Implementation of the project «B.I.K. Library. Inclusive. Culture» contributes to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 4, 10 and other SDGs.
