Shchuchin became the 27th city to join the Child Friendly Cities initiative

Shchuchin officially joined the Child Friendly Cities initiative. The signing ceremony of the Agreement on Cooperation between the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Shchuchin District Executive Committee and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) took place in the city.
Belarus joined the international Child Friendly Cities initiative in 2006. At present 26 Belarusian cities participate in the initiative. Shchuchin will become the 27th city. Participation in the initiative means constant striving to care about the quality of life of children. The initiative requires a plan of action to help the city become more child- and teenager-friendly in all aspects concerning management, infrastructure and services. A distinctive feature of the initiative is the mandatory participation of children and youth in decision-making processes that affect them.
