The draft Sustainable Development Strategy of Minsk Region until 2040 has been presented for public discussion

Minsk Regional Executive Committee is holding a public discussion of the draft Sustainable Development Strategy of Minsk Region until 2040.

The document defines the main goals and a list of measures to achieve them, challenges and ways to address them, as well as priority directions of socio-economic development of Minsk region for the long-term period taking into account the principles of sustainable development.

According to the draft, the key objective of the Strategy is to improve the well-being and living standards of the population through the creation of a sustainable and competitive regional economy, with mandatory consideration of environmental factors.

The draft Sustainable Development Strategy of Minsk Oblast until 2040 can be found on the official website of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee.

The development of regional sustainable development strategies is supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Belarus within the framework of the Joint Project “Support to the Efforts of the Republic of Belarus in Nationalization and Localization of SDGs” funded by the Russian Federation.
