The first meeting of the working group on organic agriculture took place in the gymnasium in Shchuchin

The first meeting of the working group on organic agriculture of the partner alliance of five districts of the Grodno region took place in the gymnasium in Shchuchin.

The Partnership Alliance of Grodno Region Districts for Sustainable Development «5+» has been operating since March 2021 with the aim of strengthening the economic and human potential of the Svisloch, Volkovysk, Shchuchinsky, Zelvensky and Slonim districts and intensifying efforts to implement the sustainable development goals.

One of the directions of the sustainable development strategy of the Shchuchin region is the green economy, and, accordingly, organic agriculture. In this regard, the main task of the meeting was to discuss further interaction of the working groups of the five districts and arouse interest in the development of organic farming, which will also make a great contribution to the achievement of SDGs 11, 12 and others by the Republic of Belarus.

The participants of the thematic group discussed the peculiarities of the development of organic agriculture, the production and circulation of organic products, the cultivation of ecologically pure algae and fish farming, the cultivation and sale of cereals and other crops using organic farming.

Following the meeting, the participants analyzed the information received and expressed their wishes regarding the thematic content of the next meetings.
