The key to economic growth in the Gomel region is the active implementation of industrial investment projects

On August 8, 2024, a meeting of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee was held to discuss the results of the economy of the Gomel region in the first half of 2024, as well as the forecast indicators of socio-economic development for 2025.

The Gomel region has significant natural resources, a developed industrial complex and competent specialists. The region accounts for one-fifth of the country’s industrial production. For the Gomel region, industry provides an opportunity to achieve significant effects for the economy through the modernization of existing and creation of new production facilities, expansion of the range and the release of new types of innovative and high-tech products.

Since July 2024, the updated Law “On Investments” has come into force in Belarus, which provides additional mechanisms for stimulating production initiatives in the regions.

Increasing the investment attractiveness of the Gomel region will contribute to its socio-economic development and to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals 8, 10, 11 and the other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.
