On December 3, 2024, a solemn ceremony of honoring persons with disabilities “The Most Successful Person with Disabilities of the Gomel Region – 2024” was held in Gomel. The event was organized by the Gomel Regional Public Association “Disabled Spinal Patients” with the support of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee.
The names of the most successful persons with disabilities were announced in various nominations. Thus, in the nomination “Equal helps equal”, Anton Yushchenko was recognized as the best, in the nomination “Development and popularization of inclusive culture” – Dmitry Gerashchenko, in the nomination “A lifelong calling” – Sergey Ivanov, in the nomination “Realization in sports” – Evgeniya Aliseyko, and in the nomination “Discovery of the Year” was awarded to Anna Surovets. Stanislav Samusenko was named the best inclusive blogger, Vladimir Shpakovsky was named the motivator, and Alexey Potapenko was named the public figure. For creating conditions for labor rehabilitation and habilitation of persons with disabilities of various categories, a diploma was awarded to the open joint-stock company Gomselmash, and in the Charity nomination, the award was accepted by the team of the inclusive culture center.
The ceremony “The Most Successful Person with Disabilities of the Gomel Region – 2024” contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal 10 and the other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.
