Two new 110 kV substations was opened in the Minsk region

On December 15 and 18, 2023, two 110 kV substations were opened:
- «Cherkassy» in the Dzerzhinsky region will improve the reliability of power supply to large industrial consumers of the Dzerzhinsky region, will contribute to the development of the free economic zone «Minsk» and attract new investors.
- «Aerodromnaya-2» in Minsk will provide reliable power supply to consumers of the residential complex «Minsk-Mir» and will become a worthy contribution to the development and improvement of the city. The substation has two power transformers with a total capacity of 80 MVA, a complete gas-insulated switchgear, and the latest relay protection, telemechanics and communications equipment.
In total, five 35-110 kV substations were built and reconstructed in the Minsk energy system in 2023, and another 6 are under construction. Work on modernizing power grids also continues: 640 km will be modernized in 2023. In total, more than 2.1 thousand km were built and modernized throughout the country in 11 months of 2023. It is planned that 3 thousand km will be modernized in 2024.
The creation and modernization of energy sources, increasing the country’s energy efficiency makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 7, 9, 11 and other SDGs.
