On April 25, 2025, a seminar “Gender factors in the development of legislative acts and state programs” was held in Minsk. The purpose of the seminar was to raise awareness of the issues of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for men and women in the process of developing normative legal acts and planning state programs and budgets.
The seminar was attended by more than 50 participants, including representatives of government bodies, UN agencies, social services, academia, and the parliamentary corps.
The discussion focused on the integration of gender factors in the development and implementation of government initiatives, practical aspects of gender analysis in the process of comprehensive assessment of the regulatory impact of draft regulatory acts being developed in the field of business activities, and other issues.
The seminar was organized by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus together with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) within the framework of the Joint Project “Support to the Efforts of the Republic of Belarus in Nationalization and Localization of SDGs” funded by the Government of the Russian Federation.
Compliance of normative legal acts, state programs and budgets with the principles of gender equality contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals 5, 10 and the other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.
