In accordance with the Law of the Republic of Belarus of July 17, 2018 No. 130-3 “On Normative Legal Acts”, in order to prepare a draft normative legal act (NLA), it is necessary to carry out a forecast of the consequences of its adoption (issuance), including an assessment of compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals. To this end, Information materials for assessing draft normative legal acts for compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals were developed.

The Information materials present the international and national experience for assessing draft NLAs for compliance with the SDGs, as well as the questionnaire for assessing draft NLAs for compliance with the SDGs in the Republic of Belarus and its approbation on the example of the draft Law of the Republic of Belarus “On Realtor Activity”.

The document is of a recommendatory nature and may be applied by norm-making bodies (officials) authorized by legislative acts of the Republic of Belarus to adopt (issue) NAPs when preparing draft NLAs.

Information materials for assessing draft normative legal acts for compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals were developed with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Republic of Belarus within the framework of the Joint Project “Support to the Efforts of the Republic of Belarus in Nationalization and Localization of SDGs”, funded by the Government of the Russian Federation.

The compliance of normative legal acts with the global targets of the Sustainable Development Goals contributes to the realization of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
