The Oxford Initiative on Poverty Reduction and Human Development validated the National Multidimensional Poverty Index of the Republic of Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experts from the Oxford Initiative conducted a comprehensive analysis of the structure of the National Multidimensional Poverty Index, the quality of the source data, and the reliability of the results. An independent expert examination has confirmed that the National Multidimensional Poverty Index meets international standards and provides a reliable basis for a comprehensive assessment of the level of poverty in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Multidimensional Poverty Index serves as a key tool for monitoring progress and shaping effective socio-economic policies aimed at reducing poverty and improving the well-being of the population. It considers not only monetary indicators, but also non-material factors affecting the quality of life, such as education, health and the environment, housing conditions, employment, and standard of living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The development and implementation of the National Multidimensional Poverty Index demonstrate Belarus’ commitment to implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. One of its components, the indicator of the prevalence of multidimensional poverty, is included in the global list of SDG indicators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Multidimensional Poverty Index of the Republic of Belarus was developed by the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus with the support of the United Nations Development Programme in the Republic of Belarus as part of the international technical assistance project “Support to the Efforts of the Republic of Belarus in Nationalization and Localization of SDGs”<\/a>, funded by the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
