Teen—Friendly Center was opened in Grodno

Teen—Friendly Center was opened in Grodno. His work is aimed at developing healthy lifestyle skills, preventing substance use, crisis states and suicidal behavior among children and adolescents.
Teen—Friendly Centers are a space where young people can receive help on issues of concern to them for free, confidentially and anonymously. Here, adolescents can consult a psychologist, an obstetrician, a gynecologist, a psychiatrist, a narcologist, a valeologist, or a pediatrician, take an HIV test, or simply discuss things that are usually embarrassing to talk about.
The system of such Centers is being developed by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus with the support of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) for over 20 years now. Today, there are 60 Centers in the country, and over the past ten years, more than 500,000 teenagers and young people have applied to them.
The functioning of Teen—Friendly Centers makes assistance closer and more accessible, closing the gap and making support an understandable and natural part of teenagers’ lives, which contributes to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of the Sustainable Development Goals 3, 10 and the other SDGs.
