Vitebsk will host the first Union gathering of senior citizens, “We Are for Active Longevity”

On September 23-25, 2026, Vitebsk will become the venue for the first Union gathering of senior citizens “We are for active longevity”
The event will be held under the auspices of the Union State and will bring together approximately 1,000 participants and guests from Belarus and Russia. Among the participants are representatives of the older generation, “silver” volunteers, experts and specialists in the fields of social protection, healthcare, sports, culture and additional education, as well as representatives of relevant departments, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia and the Standing Committee of the Union State.
Over the course of three days, the participants will focus on the key question: how to make life in old age active, interesting, and fulfilling. The program will include an exchange of experience in the areas of social services, health maintenance, physical activity, rehabilitation, and the development of “silver” volunteering.
In addition to the business component, the gathering will offer a rich cultural and creative program. Throughout the city, handicraft fairs and master classes will be organized, where Belarusian and Russian participants will present their practices aimed at maintaining vitality, creative and intellectual activity, interest in life, and social engagement.
Holding of the Union gathering of senior citizens “We Are for Active Longevity” will contribute to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of the Sustainable Development Goals 3, 4, 8, 10 and other SDGs.
