On July 25, 2025, a round table dedicated to the Parent-Friendly Companies initiative was held in Vitebsk.
During the event, participants discussed the development of corporate practices in the interests of parent employees and exchanged inspiring examples of creating conditions for employees to combine work and parental responsibilities.
Today, more and more companies are joining the project in the Republic. It aims to spread among employers the socially significant and economically beneficial practice of creating favorable jobs and working conditions for parent employees.
The project started in 2021. Belinvestbank OJSC was among the 10 pilot companies. Elena Zaitseva, Head of the Personnel Training and Development Department of the Personnel Development Department, shared her experience in implementing the initiative. She noted that since the launch of the initiative, the bank has implemented career guidance programs for employees’ children, established cooperation with parents on maternity leave, and introduced online educational and modular training programs for both employees and their children. By implementing the initiative, the emphasis is also on the development of internal communications and training. Now, the bank has a Career Guidance School for children on an ongoing basis. The electronic library is constantly updated with books on both psychology and child development, and online events are held. In addition, internal communication channels regularly conduct surveys and post articles and information notes on issues related to children’s development, learning and networking.
The implementation of the Parent-Friendly Company initiative contributes to the creation of favorable jobs and working conditions for parent employees, which makes an important contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals 8, 10 and the other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.
