Youth Ambassadors of the Sustainable Development Goals

Youth ambassadors are the winners of the contest "Youth Ambassadors of the Sustainable Development Goals – the future of the planet is in our hands", organized by the Education Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development of the Ministry of Education, the National Children and Youth Arts Center, the Republican Center for Ecology and Local History, and the Republican Youth Center. about the goal

The Sustainable Development Goals aim to create a more sustainable, equitable and prosperous world for all people and future generations. Goal  №1 in the Republic of Belarus should lead to improving the lives of people who live in extreme poverty. This can be achieved by creating conditions for education, health care, access to work and housing. In addition, the eradication of poverty should lead to an increase in the level of economic development of the country. Significant results can be achieved in achieving the goals with well-coordinated teamwork of all SDG Youth Ambassadors in the Republic of Belarus. Ultimately, the goal of eradicating poverty must lead to the creation of a more just and equal society, where all people have equal opportunities for self-realization and development.

SDG 14 is important for the Republic of Belarus, although our country is landlocked, it is decorated with numerous rivers and lakes. Solving the tasks of SDG 14 is no less important for Belarus, since it is located on the Black Sea-Baltic watershed. The conservation of marine ecosystems is carried out through the protection of transboundary rivers. The sustainable development goals are interconnected, therefore, achieving one contributes to the achievement of all others. Any action: not buying plastic, increasing scientific knowledge, complying with international law contributes to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development! Let’s act locally and think globally together!

Shunevich Anton Ivanovich
(Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radio Electronics
about the goal

Terrestrial ecosystems play an important role in maintaining biodiversity and ensuring the sustainability of our planet. As part of the Sustainable Development Goals, the conservation and restoration of terrestrial ecosystems is a key priority. Terrestrial ecosystems are amazingly diverse and complex systems, with each organism playing a different role. Various types of ecosystems can be observed on the surface of the earth, from forests and fields to deserts and mountain ranges. Numerous species of plants, animals, and microorganisms thrive in the forests of the terrestrial ecosystem. Trees provide shelter for many animals and also provide oxygen and carbon dioxide to all organisms. In turn, the animals distribute plant seeds and help circulate nutrients. On steppes and deserts, terrestrial ecosystems are adapted to hot climates and lack of moisture. It is home to animals that can withstand high temperatures, as well as plants that are adapted to minimal amounts of water. In every terrestrial ecosystem, there is a delicate balance between all organisms that maintains the cycle of life and ensures environmental sustainability. Therefore, the conservation and restoration of terrestrial ecosystems is an integral part of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Action must be taken to protect nature, sustainably use natural resources and combat climate change to ensure the well-being of our planet and future generations.
