The “Regional Initiative”, a mechanism for supporting investment projects of small and medium–sized businesses, began operating in Belarus in 2025 and became a continuation of the concept “One District, One Project”.
Within the framework of the “Regional Initiative”, a list of 178 investment projects with a total financing volume of more than 7 billion rubles has been formed for the Gomel Region.
Of the 178 investment projects, 97 have been identified in the industrial sector, and in agriculture it is planned to build more than 40 dairy complexes and farms, two large pig breeding complexes ‑ for 100 thousand heads in the Gomel region and with a closed cycle for 24 thousand heads in the Mozyr region, a greenhouse complex in the Svetlogorsk region, a workshop for advanced processing of chicken meat‑broilers in Buda‑Koshelevsky district, as well as the implementation of a number of other initiatives.
The formed list of investment projects will be included in the Program of socio‑economic development of the Gomel region for 2026-2030 and further supplemented with new projects.
The implementation of investment projects within the framework of the “Regional Initiative” makes a significant contribution to the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring the integrated development of regions and strengthening their socio‑economic potential.
