Starting in October 2026, the Minsk City Housing Authority will begin implementing a project to install special containers for collecting unnecessary clothes and shoes.
Residents of the capital will be able to deposit textiles, shoes and other items in special containers. The collected textiles will be sorted and sent for reuse or recycling.
At the first stage of the project, it is planned to install 50 containers in the Moskovsky and Frunzensky districts of Minsk.
The implementation of the initiative will reduce the volume of textile waste, reduce the burden on the environment, increase resource efficiency, and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals 11, 12 and other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.
