SDG 13 Youth Ambassador Yulia Matyna spoke at the meeting of the Council for Sustainable Development

The Youth Ambassador of SDG 13 «Combating Climate Change and Its Consequences» Yulia Matyna took part in the meeting of the Council for Sustainable Development, which was held on December 13, 2021 in Minsk. As part of the climate agenda discussed at the Council meeting, Yulia spoke about the contribution of youth to the achievement of SDG 13.

SDG Youth Ambassadors, in collaboration with the Education for Sustainable Development Coordination Center, take part in organizing and conducting discussions, environmental actions and projects that contribute to the popularization of knowledge and ideas about SDG 13 among young people.

The systematic inclusion of young people in the implementation of climate initiatives contributes to:

• understanding the essence of climate change, its origins and impact, mitigation mechanisms and conditions necessary for adaptation to ongoing changes;
• mastering modern methods of involving partners and the public in the processes of understanding climate change;
• the formation of behavioral patterns and competencies necessary to ensure the transformation of lifestyles towards reducing the ecological footprint.
