The Republican project “Sustainable University – 2025” has been launched in Belarus, aimed at raising students’ awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals, implementing projects by young people that will help achieve these global Goals, as well as informing students about the contest “Youth Ambassadors for the Sustainable Development Goals – Future of the Planet is in Our Hands.”

The project program includes holding training events of various formats at universities in Belarus.

The first event, the Forum of Young Economists “Sustainable University – 2025”, was held on October 23-24, 2025, at the Grodno State Agrarian University, bringing together students, teachers, experts and others interested in promoting the principles of sustainable development.

The forum participants were presented with an overview of the country’s progress in areas such as poverty eradication, quality education, sustainable agriculture, and climate initiatives. Special attention was paid to the national strategies and international commitments that Belarus has undertaken within the framework of the 2030 Agenda.

The contribution of youth to the achievement of the SDGs and their vision of modern challenges was presented by Veronika Nalivaiko, the alternate for the SDG 1 Youth Ambassador, as part of the report “Sustainable Development Concept”. She also highlighted the need to strike a balance between economic growth, social justice, and environmental conservation, and emphasized the important role of universities as centers of sustainable innovation.

The implementation of the Republican project “Sustainable University” makes an important contribution to the popularization of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development among young people.
