The main goal of the initiative is to create inclusive conditions for life, work and creativity for young people with disabilities on the basis of an independent living center for people with disabilities in the village of Luka, Stolin district, Brest region. The activity is being implemented by the district public association “Center for Support of Young People with Disabilities” with the broad support of government authorities, international organizations, local authorities, including the Department of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Stolin District Executive Committee, the SI “Stolin TCSON”, Glinka Rural Executive Committee.

CONTENTS OF THE ACTIVITY
Since 2015, the RPO “Center for Support of Young People with Disabilities” has been striving to create conditions for independent living and work of young people with disabilities. The main objectives of the initiative include adapting housing to the needs of young people with disabilities, creating jobs, developing vocational and educational programs, creating an inclusive community, raising public awareness of the needs and capabilities of people with disabilities, and developing barrier-free infrastructure.

RESULTS AND IMPACT OF THE INITIATIVE
Major renovation of the former school building was completed. Now it contains three rooms with 15 beds, a kitchen and a bathroom. Internal and external finishing was completed, the fasade was insulated, communications were laid, and a barrier-free environment was created. Plans to expand the initiative include updating the remaining buildings of the school complex, building a canteen, launching a sewing workshop to preserve the cultural heritage of Polesie and improve labor skills.
In recent years, more than 10 inclusive summer camps were organized. In 2022, practice-oriented master classes on making dolls, souvenirs, candles and ceramics were held for 56 young people with disabilities in the Stolin district.
The “Inclusive School of Independent Living” program was launched to teach how to make candles, sachets for lighting fireplaces and ceramic products. This direction allows participants to acquire useful skills and helps strengthen independence skills.
The Equal Opportunity Village demonstrates a shining example of an integrated approach to the implementation of many of the Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on the importance of inclusion in society, equality and cooperation to achieve a sustainable future.
