The President of the Republic of Belarus signed the Decree No. 216 dated July 7, 2026 “On measures for the development of certain regions”.
The document sets out measures aimed at the socio-economic development of the Vitebsk region and the southeastern region of Mogilev region for the period up to 2030. Attention will be paid to the territories of Klimovichi, Kostyukovichi, Krasnopolsky, Krichevsky, Slavgorodsky, Khotimsky and Cherikovsky districts of the Mogilev region, as well as Braslavsky, Gorodoksky, Dokshitsky, Lepelsky, Miorsky, Polotsky and Ushachsky districts of the Vitebsk region, which are part of the Poozerie. The decree will create favorable conditions for the further development of the regions, the creation of new enterprises and industries on their territories, and the implementation of investment projects.
It also provides for the approval of programs for the socio-economic development of the southeastern region of the Mogilev region for the period up to 2030 and the addition of the Program for the Socio-economic Development of the Vitebsk region for 2026-2030 with an appropriate section for individual districts.
The implementation of the provisions of the Decree “On measures for the development of certain regions” will contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals 8, 10, 11 and the other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.
