A pilot project to provide the city with electric transport has been launched in Novopolotsk

In order to increase the use of electric energy in passenger transportation, reduce air pollution and improve the urban environment, on October 29, 2024, the Council of Ministers adopted Resolution No. 795 “On the implementation of a pilot project to provide electric transport”.

The document provides for the implementation in 2024–2025 of a pilot project to provide electric transport to the city of Novopolotsk with the development of charging infrastructure. Thus, within the framework of the project implementation, charging stations with a total electrical capacity of up to 2880 kW will be installed in the territories:

• branch of “Autotransport enterprise No. 6 of Novopolotsk” of OJSC “Vitebskoblavtotrans” on Promyshlennaya street, 2;
• bus station on Blokhin Street, 8;
• bus dispatch station at Molodezhnaya Street, 253.

The development of electric transport and the charging infrastructure required for it contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals 7, 11, 12, 13 and the other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.
