Inclusive beach will open in the Vitebsk region

7 May 2024

In the village of Dolzha near Lake Sosna, the territorial center for social services for the population of the Vitebsk region is implementing a social project «Accessible Beach» for people with disabilities.

The beach will be equipped with various types of special equipment for people with musculoskeletal disorders, a separate parking lot with a wooden deck leading to the beach, railings in the water, special dry closets and a changing cabin. There is also an inclusive cafe next to the beach.

The project plans to purchase kayaks with all the equipment – helmets, vests and oars. They can also be used by people with musculoskeletal and vision impairments. It is planned to install an information stand indicating the location of important objects on the beach, duplicated in Braille.

The implementation of the social project «Accessible Beach» will contribute to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 10, 11 and other SDGs.
