On May 27-29, 2026, Minsk hosted the XVII Eurasian Forum of Social Workers, dedicated to the theme “Social Work: Global Challenges and innovative practices.”
The event brought together more than 250 participants — specialists in the field of social work and rehabilitation, scientists, representatives of ministries, heads of international organizations, as well as heads of professional associations of the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, the United Kingdom, the Philippines and other countries.
Participants discussed issues of social support for people throughout their life cycle, global challenges of social work and adaptation of social protection systems, family and child well-being, integration of medical and social care, innovative approaches in geriatrics and palliative care, digital solutions in the field of social work.
The forum program also included a practical part: participants visited state institutions of social services and education, where they got acquainted with modern working methods, technologies of interdepartmental interaction and models of service provision.
The Eurasian Forum of Social Workers is a leading international platform for professional exchange and the formation of an urgent agenda in the field of social work. Founded in 2005 by the associations of social workers of Russia and South Korea, the forum has been consistently strengthening international cooperation for more than two decades, contributing to the development of coordinated approaches to solving regional and global social problems, and also playing an important role in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The XVII Eurasian Forum of Social Workers was organized with the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in the Republic of Belarus within the framework of the Joint Project “Support to the Efforts of the Republic of Belarus in Nationalization and Localization of SDGs”, funded by the Russian Federation.
