The National Coordinator for Achieving the SDGs participated in the Regional Forum on Sustainable Development in Geneva

On April 2-3, 2025, the Regional Forum on Sustainable Development is taking place in Geneva. The theme of the forum: “Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its SDGs in the ECE region, leaving no one behind.”

Speaking at the forum during the high-level segment, the National Coordinator for Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, Deputy Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Khomenko, highlighted Belarus’ efforts to implement the 2030 Agenda.

“The result of the implemented policy is the 30th place of Belarus in the world in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. We achieved four of them prematurely. Among them: No poverty (SDG 1); Clean water and sanitation (SDG 6); Reduced inequalities (SDG 10); Life on land (SDG 15).” – declared Sergei Khomenko.

The National Coordinator also called on the world community to peacefully resolve any conflicts, join efforts to further achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, and expressed willingness to share experience and achievements in this direction.
