On November 20, 2024, as part of the Belarusian Entrepreneurship Week, a business forum “State and Business: Partnership for Sustainable Development” was held in Vitebsk.
The forum was attended by representatives of regional and local authorities, the business community, the banking sector, educational institutions, enterprises and organizations of the Vitebsk region, and the Belarusian Union of Women.
The business forum was a platform for exchanging experiences in such areas as interaction between business and government to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, improving the efficiency of regional business, successful practices and business prospects in the regions, prospects for the development of cooperation and cluster initiatives, social entrepreneurship as an effective business model for regional development.
The forum events included exhibition, trainings, business negotiations, work of business sections, awarding of small and medium-sized businesses of the Vitebsk region, a plenary session on the presentation of the draft regional sustainable development strategy of the Vitebsk region for the period up to 2040.
The forum was organized by the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee with the support of UNDP within the framework of the project “Support to the Efforts of the Republic of Belarus in Nationalization and Localization of SDGs”, funded by the Russian Federation.
Holding the business forum “State and Business: Partnership for Sustainable Development” will contribute to the socio-economic development of the Vitebsk region, as well as the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals 8, 11, 17 and the other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.
